The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has opened the new four-lane Sorsogon City Coastal Road with a length of 5.52 kilometers and a view of the coast of Sorsogon.
Aside from speeding up traffic flow and boosting the local economy, this new road provides storm surge protection from frequent typhoons hitting the Bicol Region.
Along with the benefits of infrastructure projects, it will continue to provide jobs and income for workers which contributes to the economic recovery of our country from the effects of the pandemic.
According to DPWH data, the 'Build, Build, Build' program has provided up to 5 million jobs from 2016 to 2019. It is estimated that it will increase by 1.5 million this year.
