Region IX Joins PUVMP With 18 Modernized PUVs

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region IX, under the strong leadership of Regional Director Nonito Llanos III with his team, launched its first modernized public utility vehicles (PUVs) on October 9, 2020 at Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

There were a total of 18 OFG-compliant units launched--10 Public Utility Buses (PUBs) and 8 mini buses--from Rural Transit Mindanao Incorporated, Dipolog Evergood Tracking Corporation, and AA Starlight Express Corporation.

This launch marks the beginning of the Region’s participation and compliance to the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

The PUVMP is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable, and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.
