All-Electric Porsche Taycan is German Car of the Year

 

The all-electric Porsche Taycan has been named as the German Car of the Year by the German Car Awards.

According to the 18-strong jury comprised of German automotive journalists, the Taycan bagged the award for its design, chassis, and engine performance. They also cited that, at 800 V, it has twice the voltage of most cars at 400 V, and that its battery can be fast-charged for a range of 100-kilometers in just five minutes.

Rounding out the category winners of the annual German Car Awards are:

• Compact – Volkswagen Golf 
• Premium – Volkswagen ID.3 
• Luxury – Polestar 2 
• New Energy – Honda E 
• Performance – BMW Alpina B3
