SSC Responds to Critics, to Set Another High-Speed Record Run with Tuatara

After a lot of criticism was raised over the SSC Tuatara's record-setting run to an average speed of 316mph (508kph), SSC Chief Executive Officer Jerod Shelby has responded to his critics by saying that the car will undergo another high-speed run for the record.

In fairness to Shelby, he said he understood why everyone was doubting the initial run after SSC got its hand on the video files and, upon perusing the videos themselves, saw the discrepancies the people were raising.

"We have to rerun the record," Shelby said in response. "We have to do this again and do it in a way that's undeniable and irrefutable. So the next time we do this--which is we're going to prepare to do in the very near future--we need to make sure we have multiple GPS companies companies' equipment in the car. I want to make sure that we have their staff on-site, looking over our shoulders, and analyzing every run, every detail of this."

Shelby even specifically invited the three people who questioned the Tuatara's run on social media--Shmee150, Misha, and  Robert.

And so we wait with bated breath...

Meanwhile, check out the much-disputed record-setting run below:
